Relax with the family at this peaceful home from home. Dogs (2 max) well catered for inc sitting service. Lots of local amenities and walks in the wonderful Yorkshire countryside. Grade I listed property looks out onto rolling fields and sits alongside historic Barkisland Hall. Large fully equipped kitchen/diner opens onto a patio with seating for at least 6. Double and twin beds plus lounge with sofa bed upstairs. Main bathroom plus downstairs WC. Utility room inc washing machine.
Barkisland is a friendly village on the outskirts of Halifax and only 15 minutes' drive from the M62. Within the village is a convenience store/post office, cricket club, playground, church and a number of pubs with the nearest only a couple of minutes' walk. We are surrounded by rolling hills with easy access to magnificent walks and a short drive to Sowerby Bridge train station and Halifax, home of Gentleman Jack, Happy Valley and Piece Hall. Within walking distance are the popular wedding and events venues Fleece Inn and Venue (both Barkisland). The area Is very popular with cyclists who like hilly challenges!
Walking is the best way to explore the locality. The good bus service can take you to neighbouring towns or the train will get you to Manchester or Leeds. If you bring a car, we have parking space for 2-3 vehicles. The area is very popular with cyclists, being on the route of Tour de France Grande Depart and Tour de Yorkshire, with 'King of Mountains' Ripponden Bank and Cragg Vale close by.
