The Old Sweet Shop is located in the heart of the Peak District in the quaint bustling village of Youlgrave. There are 3 local pubs, walks from the door and a 15 minute drive to Chatsworth House and many other attractions makes it an excellent base to stay. Retaining many original features the accommodation has been lovingly renovated. It is an ideal venue for families and groups of friends to get together to socialise in the large open plan kitchen and lounge area along with cosy log burner!
We are available on the telephone or email to answer any queries or offer advice on place to go.
The village is thriving with 3 pubs and 2 cafes , branch off along any of the lanes and paths leading from the Main Street and you will find yourself in beautiful scenery. Below the village the river Bradford runs through a very attractive dale with a swimming/splashing area, fishing weirs and sparklingly clear water. Downstream is the pretty little hamlet of Alport with its' quaint bridge and millponds. Nearby are the beautiful stately homes of Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House.
