Relax in this new, luxury barn conversion with views over open fields from your own private garden. This two bedroom holiday cottage is perfect for either two couples, a group of friends or a family of four. The interior of Linseed has been carefully designed to be sympathetic to the age of the building but also to provide the comfort and style expected of a luxury holiday rental home. The open plan kitchen living space has a Charnwood log burner and comfy seating for four with dining for up to six. The full width bi-folds make for perfect indoor-outdoor living, allowing you to fully appreciate the heavenly surroundings. The patio area includes a BBQ, outdoor table and chairs and a couple of separate deck chairs which really are the perfect spot to watch the clouds go by. Flexible bed configurations available; one double and two singles or two doubles. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom allowing each couple to have their privacy. We also have a full size cot with linen and high chair available for our smaller guests.

Together with my husband, Simon, we created Stamford Holiday Cottages during the 2020 lockdown when we converted a derelict barn to a beautiful two-bedroom cottage, known as Linseed. Simon is most definitely the brains of the build and I am the frills! Since lockdown, during 2022, we have converted a pair of grain silos (catchily known as The Silos) into a 1 bedroom couple’s retreat, which if you’re looking for something a little different, should ‘tick the box’. Over the next few years, we have exciting plans to convert a further two derelict barns into holiday accommodation.We can't wait to host other friends and families in this beautiful part of the world. You will be able to check in via lock box and we are more than happy to let you relax and enjoy. We are available by phone should you have any issues. Linseed is located at Carr's Lodge Farm and although no longer a working farm, you can enjoy seeing the 6 chickens and 2 geese that live in the fenced paddock within the yard. *Sadly, due to the current ongoing avian flu regulations, the girls are all fenced in at the back of the yard in order to keep them safe. Steve the ginger cat may also be lurking somewhere in the sunshine (don't worry, he's not allowed in the garden at Linseed).

Within the immediate vicinity, there are rolling fields with some scenic walks. England’s finest stone town, voted best place to live in 2013 and 2017, Stamford is less than a mile away with some wonderful independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Even on a dreary day, Stamford’s stone buildings, fabulous architecture and the many churches will brighten your day. Burghley House is less than a mile away and is the perfect place to spend the whole day. As well as the exceptional collection of treasures within the house, the gardens and brand new adventure play area provide activities to keep every member of the family entertained. Rutland Water, a 10 minute drive away is the perfect place to visit for those wanting a bit of outdoor activity. Kayaking, cycling, windsurfing, mini - golf, sailing, aqua park and even open water swimming (during the armer months) are just a few of the activities available to enjoy. Our online guidebook is also full of an array of suggestions of places to visit during your stay. Alternatively, do drop us a message and we will be more than happy to help with ideas. We recommend using a car or taxi to get out and about. (There is a very local Enterprise car hire centre which make this a very practical option if you are travelling to Stamford by train, taxis are also readily available). There are some lovely walks from the cottage and it is a short to walk to town but there is a short stretch along the country lane, where is no pavement. There’s plenty of parking in Stamford, several options are free but even the paid parking is inexpensive.
