The Graythwaite Estate is family-run and spans some 5,000 acres of land, nestled in the beautiful English Lake District. It is home to the Sandys family who have lived at the Estate for over 500 years, since the first Graythwaite Hall was built.

A delightful ground floor apartment. Comprising spacious accommodation, this homely apartment is the ideal choice for a couple looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and relax in sheer tranquillity. The comfy double bedroom has en-suite facilities, and the well-equipped kitchen will allow you to rustle up a tasty treat. Be enchanted by the stunning scenes of Esthwaite Water and beyond with a stay at Esthwaite Howe, where you can comfortably spend time in your property with a good book and a cup of tea, or head out and explore the nearby fells and waters. You can also make use of the large lawned area complete with seating overlooking the stunning lake and countryside surroundings, so whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic break or a small family looking for the perfect escape to the serenity of the lakes, this apartment is the perfect choice for a memorable holiday in the hidden gem that is our Esthwaite Howe Farmyard. All of our Esthwaite Howe apartments are fitted with a kitchen with an oven, microwave, kettle and toaster, as well as basic cooking utensils and cutlery, etc. Each bathroom also has a heated towel rail and clothes airer. The communal laundry facilities with both washer and dryer are found to the right-hand side of the courtyard as you enter, which guests are welcome to use at their leisure.

The home farm shop which stocks locally sourced produce, and a host of walks and trails just around the corner with stunning tabletop views of the valleys and local waterways. Just a 10 minute drive to Grubbin’s Point and the Windermere shores, you will have easy access to adventure and activities from your countryside home-from-home. The property is just a 5 minute drive from the historic, sweet village of Hawkshead, home to many adored restaurants and pubs.
