Since 2009, I’ve been running Carrowmena as a glamping site alongside offering outdoor pursuits activities. As a fully qualified outdoor pursuits instructor, I led the activities myself with the help of a small, dedicated team. Now, with three young children, I’m embracing towards a better work-life balance—one that allows my family to be more involved. I’m now focusing solely on accommodation, creating a space where guests can truly relax and enjoy their stay. I’m passionate about the great outdoors and love sharing the beauty of our local landscape. With a variety of unique accommodation options, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

Carrowmena School House & Glamping is nestled at the foot of Binevenagh Mountain in the picturesque Roe Valley, just outside Limavady, Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Our spacious two-storey self-catering School House comfortably sleeps up to 35 guests and includes a cosy lounge, large dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen, ideal for family gatherings, group getaways, and special occasions. Guests can choose from two booking options: the Ground Floor only, which accommodates up to 23 people, or the entire property (Ground & First Floor), sleeping up to 35 guests. The Glamping Site includes 6 cosy Glamping Pods (bring own bed linen), 1 charming Bell Tent (bed linen provided), and 8 Camping Pitches. Guests have access to a shared outdoor glamping kitchen equipped with kettles, toasters, ovens, hobs, microwave, fridge, crockery, and cutlery—just bring your own food! Includes outdoor covered over seating area. Toilets are open 24/7, and free hot showers are available daily from 7am–10pm, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay. We offer a Self Check-In Service, with all the necessary information sent to guests via email ahead of their arrival. Our site is car-free for a more peaceful and safe environment—guests can park in the main car park and use our handy carts to transport their belongings to their accommodation. Each Glamping Pod and the Bell Tent comes with its own picnic table, fire pit, and metal BBQ plate—Camping pitches have access to the same, perfect for alfresco evenings under the stars. There’s lots to keep everyone entertained, including a children’s play area with slides, swings, a sandpit, and a playhouse. The large grassy area features football nets, a table tennis table, and lawn games, bats and balls plenty of fun for families and groups. We welcome all types of groups, families, friends, clubs, and retreats and offer the option to book the entire site for larger gatherings or special events.
