The cottage was warm and cosy and had fabulous views. It was well-equipped and had everything we needed for a three night stay. As it was October, it wasn't warm enough to eat on the patio which has a view across Derwentwater but, we did manage...

Such a lovely cottage with everything we needed for a few days of walking in the lakes. A great, quiet location part way along the path up Cat Bells; Keswick is nearby for supplies, and the view over Derwentwater to Blencathra is amazing while...

Nestled in the mountains and set in 8 acres of private ground, Catbells Sunrise Cottage provides nature's best presents: glorious sunrise, magnificent sunset, serene full moon, clear starry sky, majestic rainbow, crisp fresh air, stunning sweeping views, vibrant and energetic colour palettes changing with seasons and weathers. Located above Manesty Park and on the mountain path to Catbells summit, it is the ideal base for a holiday packed with outdoor activities and a cozy retreat to recharge body, relax mind and regain balance. The cottage is best suited for people looking for an activity holiday in nature, or a cozy retreat to recharge and relax. Not really suited for people with mobility issues. Our private spring water supply comes directly from Catbells fell and is treated with a UV filtration system, pure and free of chemicals. The tap water is safe to drink and you'll notice the light texture and fresh taste. Hot water is always available and the pressurised system provides a power shower. We will provide a complimentary basket of wood for the log burner in colder months. You can purchase more logs at fuel stations in Keswick if needed. Maximum two well behaved dogs are welcome, please do inform us if you're bringing any. We do charge a small amount to cover the extra cleaning needed.
I'm a yoga teacher based in Northern Lake District, sharing yoga with local communities, at sports and mountain festivals and yoga retreats abroad. A self claimed nomad and adventurer, I have lived in Edinburgh, Shanghai and London since my university years, now settling back in UK's beautiful Lake District after 11 years in the UAE with extensive traveling to different countries, my little family is enjoying every second of our life here.
Catbells Sunrise Cottage forms one of 3 buildings in Fellside, a private ground set in 8 acres of gardens and woods. We live next door in The Lodge, with our well behaved and friendly Viszla dog Jack. One side of our house attaches to the back of the cottage, so we are nearby if you need any help yet far enough away for your privacy. Keswick is 4 miles away, either by a scenic drive through Portinscale, or through the lovely village of Grange onto the Borrowdale Valley. Manesty is a mountainous area, with numerous hiking, walking, running and cycling routes, either going up to the mountains or down to the lake and river. Many routes can be enjoyed starting from the door step of Catbells Sunrise Cottage.
