Church Bank is a traditional Lakeland slate built terraced cottage situated in the centre of Chapel Stile. Arranged on two levels above the cottage of Jacks Nook, the accommodation is extremely comfortable and comprises of a double bedroom, twin bedroom, lounge / dining area, kitchen and bathroom. The property has excellent views from the large living room window across a meadow over Chapel Stile village to the fells beyond. Although there is no designated parking with Church Bank, you may find parking underneath the church wall or around the village. Church Bank is a good base to explore the many activities in the local area with some of the best scenery and walking right on the doorstep.

Chapel Stile, in the heart of the Langdale valley, is a village that used to serve the local slate workings – well served on a good local bus route and with a convenient little Co-op which carries an impressive stock to support you on your holidays, and of course the local village pub, Wainwrights Inn. It is just 5 miles away from Ambleside, a much busier tourist hub with many shops, cinemas and a variety of eateries to suit most palates. Grasmere is only 9 miles away, famous for its lake, gingerbread and home to William Wordsworth which he described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found." For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located nearby in Chapel Stile. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
