Property information

A delightful 300 year old Cotswold stone cottage in the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Hill. Newly renovated, it retains a wealth of original character whilst being fully equipped with all the modern comforts for a cosy stay. Ideally located for exploring the best of the Cotswolds villages, market towns, country estates and popular destination. Batsford Arboretum, Bourton House and Sezincote House are on the edge of the village and many beautiful walks can be taken from the doorstep. This quintessential terraced Cotswold cottage is full of original period features including oak beamed ceilings, exposed Cotswold stone walls, elm floorboards and an inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove. Recently refurbished, the historic feel of the cottage is perfectly complemented by its modern facilities. Including high speed fibre broadband, a fully equipped beautifully presented kitchen and dining space with a range cooker and an underfloor heated stone floor. The cottage is the perfect place to retreat to after a busy day exploring the Cotswolds. Enter the cottage into a cosy and tastefully decorated sitting room with wood burning stove. Flow from here into the light, light filled kitchen and dining area. French doors open out from the dining area onto a South facing terrace and garden.A winding cottage staircase leads up from the sitting room to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms; The main bedroom, a light and airy room to the back of the cottage overlooking the garden with a King size bed and ensuite shower room A characterful double bedroom with exposed beams and original elm floorboards A shared family bathroom with roll top bath. A second winding cottage staircase leads up to a delightful attic bedroom, full of character with exposed white washed beams and low twin beds

Neighbourhood information

The cottage is accessed from the road down four stone steps to a small outdoor area and the front door, these steps are shared with our neighbor. There is no allocated parking on the premises but it is possible to park outside the cottage for loading and unloading the car. Parking is easily available on the little side road few metres above the cottage to the left. A bus stop sits opposite the cottage with buses running to and from - Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Norton, Chipping Camden, Stratford on avon and many other villages. There is also a train station in Moreton in Marsh if you are travelling to us with no car available.
