Tŷ Pren is a homely, family-friendly self-catering lodge with central heating, set on a working mountain farm just above the village of Beddgelert. Situated only a 7-minute drive from the Rhyd Ddu Snowdon path, the lodge enjoys an elevated position overlooking the village and surrounding countryside, with a footpath providing a walk down through fields and ancient oak woodland. From the comfort of the living area, guests can enjoy far-reaching views across the Eryri mountains and watch farm animals in the surrounding fields through impressive floor-to-ceiling windows, which bring plenty of natural light into the space. The lodge offers comfortable accommodation with two bedrooms, making it well suited to families or small groups. There is a small number of steps at the entrance, after which all accommodation is arranged on one level. Inside, the lodge features a generous open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, a shower room, and a separate toilet, providing added convenience for families and longer stays. Patio doors open onto a patio and decking area with outdoor seating, offering a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the setting and mountain views. Off-road parking is available next to the lodge. Reliable Wi-Fi is available, suitable for streaming, video calls and remote work. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available for guest use in an outbuilding approximately 50 metres from the lodge. There is a footpath down to the village. Allow around 10 minutes downhill to Beddgelert and approximately 20 minutes on the return uphill. Parts of the route can be uneven or boggy after wet weather, so suitable footwear is recommended. Alternatively, guests can park at the bottom of the farm track and walk into the village along the main road, which is only a few hundred yards.

This part of Snowdonia is a popular area for walkers, climbers and cyclists, with a wide network of footpaths, forests, lakes and renowned mountain scenery nearby. Walking routes range from gentle valley walks alongside rivers to more challenging scrambles and high mountain paths. Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is easily accessible, with the Rhyd Ddu path only a 7-minute drive from the property. Mountain biking is available in Beddgelert Forest, where bike hire is also available, with more challenging routes at the Marin Trail near Betws-y-Coed and Plas y Brenin near Dolgellau. For a slower pace, guests can relax and enjoy the surrounding scenery or explore further afield, from the lakes and mountains of Snowdonia to the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey. Sandy beaches are around 8 miles away. The Welsh Highland Railway runs along the valley opposite the cottage, and nearby attractions include the Ffestiniog Railway and the Snowdon Mountain Railway.
