A charming country retreat sitting prettily in the six acre garden of Balmaclellan House . Relax on the stone seats and enjoy views across the Galloway hills or sit in the sun trap which is the formal garden based on the Balmaclellan Mirror. This single storey well- appointed cottage is tastefully furnished with lots of original art with comfort and relaxation in a quiet environment being paramount. The cottage is not at all isolated and there is pub with restaurant within a 15 minute walk. Secure storage for bikes is available. There is a games barn with table tennis etc beside the cottage.
There is free wifi and a woodburning stove with logs supplied.
Nearby activities include cycling and mountain biking, walking, fishing, golf and a variety of water sports. Galloway has many places of interest to visit such as castles and gardens and of course stunning scenery to enjoy, which draws in artists time and time again. The region is also renowned for being free of light pollution and is a must for those interested in the dark sky.
The nearby CatStrand theatre, cafe and gift shop provides a varied programme of events and a great place for lunch or afternoon tea break. Kirkcudbright is a renowned artistic town with a great art gallery.
