The hotel was right at the heart of the boat show marina where we came for. It was literally one step away from the entrance of the marina and we could even see it all from our room window. There was complimentary gin left for us in the room which made the cherry on top. Room was very large, very comfortable great big bed, nice clean bathroom. Restaurant was also great at the ground floor.

Departure point for Isle of Wight ferries and grand cruise liners including the Queen Mary 2, Southampton is understandably centred around its port. But even if you’re passing through, the city has more than enough to make you want to stay awhile. The Hythe Ferry from the port passes Netley, site of a ruined abbey, and ends at Hythe Pier, home to the world’s oldest pier train.
There is much older history in the city centre where the 15th-century city walls are amongst the most complete in England. Also remaining is the medieval Bargate gatehouse.
Just behind is the Bargate Shopping Centre, while high street stores in the city centre and West Quay are other Southampton shopping choices. As for entertainment, the city is well served by theatres, and Oxford Street has the best bars and restaurants. All are easily reached from the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Southampton available on Booking.com.
There is also a surprising amount of green space in the city and its central parks are Grade II-listed. Slightly further out is Southampton Common, whose Urban Wildlife Centre is worth a visit.
If you’re flying out of Southampton Airport, don’t leave without having visited the Maritime Museum or Archaeology Museum, both detailing the history of this long-established city.

The town centre has loads of shops and a large indoor shopping centre. There are several parks and lots of green space available. There was a huge choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs for all price brackets. We went to the 1865 club which holds lots of musical events. We were a bit concerned doing the 30 minute walk through the parks when the event finnished, however we saw at least 3 separate groups of police walking around the town and parks so felt very safe.

We had a really good stay with several nice meals, Found the people very pleasant and helpful. Really good shopping centres. Town was not too big and by the sea with several parks. There was something for all ages. Had all the major entertainments like cinema and ten pin bowling. Lovely museum and art gallery - well worth a visit.

Southampton is a little under-rated as an historic town.
Southampton is a little under-rated as an historic town. The walls are virtually complete on one side, there is one of England's best town gates and there are several old buildings to visit. The Art Gallery is just about the best south of London and the Sea City Museum is well worth a visit- especially for the Titanic story.

Southampton is a lovely city with a bustling town centre.
Southampton is a lovely city with a bustling town centre. It's famous for being the port from where the Titanic set off. I really like West Quay as a shopping mall - there's a lot of good places to eat at. I also like the entire stretch of High Street, there are weekly markets and also some pop ups stalls sometimes. The art gallery and library are free to enter, and you can also enjoy SeaCity Museum for a small fee. It's a wonderful city to walk in and just chill, but it's not as jam packed as London. However, from Southampton you can head to Winchester, the Isle of Wight, Brighton, Bournemouth, Beaulieu and more! There's also Paulton's Park which is home to Peppa Pig World. The buses are usually very efficient, and you have Uber or taxi services everywhere. All in all it's a great place to visit.

Southampton is like most cities in the UK.
Southampton is like most cities in the UK. Large shopping centre with various high street options and eateries. It has a leisure centre for swimming, plenty of gyms and large green spaces / parks to walk and talk in. It has strong ties to the Titanic story, as the ship left from one of the docks there. The museum is worth a visit. The Mayflower theatre has great shows on regularly.
I had travelled by train and it’s just 10/15 mins walk from station I had ground floor room which was lovely very clean plenty tea coffee etc just could not find a fault also great communication right up to day of arrival they don’t serve breakfast which was fine I brought mine I would highly recommend this Hotel easy walk into town too and if cruising from new cruise terminal Horizon it’s a 20/25 min walk
Excellent location at the heart of Southampton with lots of restaurants and fast food, sightseeing sites, convenience stores, cafés and services nearby. Nice and warm room, I felt welcome by the staff, cheers Nathan and others. Clean, calm place to stay with serene atmosphere, good TV, good shower, inexpensive car park in the inner courtyard turned out handy when we rented a car with family.
We wanted a cheap one-night stopover to visit the Southampton Boat Show. This hotel was better than we expected and excellent value for money, even after paying extra for on-site parking. The room had everything we needed, without frills, including perhaps the best shower we've ever used! The cooked breakfast at the Ibis 3-star hotel next door was also very good and excellent value.
The hotel was situated in a good location and we were able to walk to restaurants, shopping and even a launderette. The host was very helpful in assisting us with amenities and places to go. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Will definitely stay again when we return to Southampton.
The food - breakfasts were always excellent and I had an absolutely incredible makhani curry! The bed was really comfortable, and the staff were all excellent. Fantastic value for money. Great location for West Quay, cruise ships or just a general visit to Southampton.
Amazing hotel with a great concept. Large room with excellent facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great location for the port and cruise ship holidays, walking distance to all terminals.
Set in the old town of Southampton, with lots of great restaurants.
The funky, locally themed decor - such a refreshing contrast to standard chain hotel interior design. It had real character.
The gent who greeted me on arrival and checked me in was also excellent: fun, welcoming and very clear in his explanations.
I did not have breakfast at Moxy Southampton so can not comment here. The location was ideal as the hotel is right next to the station and city centre and has very good transport links in its vicinity. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Good location for city centre and cruise terminal.
Professional attitude of staff good breakfast good parking facilities retail park within easy walking distance of the hotel and train station also within walking distance to
The hotel was quiet and away from road noise. The bed was large and very comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for my trip from home to the Southampton cruise terminal
Hotel is beautiful, grounds are lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was fantastic and breakfast the next morning was great. Will definitely stay again when cruising from Southampton
The apartment was exactly what we needed in the part of town we wanted to stay. It was clean, well furnished, and comfortable. Will definitely stay there again when visiting Southampton.
