The property is very quirky and is in a great location. The owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to furnish the Cottage in accordance with a Dickensian theme

Company information

My name is Phil, and I manage self catering cottages in Broadstairs. I have been in the hospitality trade for over 35 years now, so I have lots of experience of what people need for their well earned holiday. I have lived in Broadstairs for most of my life, so I know both the area and all it has to offer very well. I try to be the very best host and personally ensure that every guest is happy with their cottage and have an enjoyable holiday in Broadstairs, I am always here to answer any questions that guests may have. I really enjoy making sure that all guests have a great stay, with 5 star customer care! If you want to know the best restaurants, pubs or beaches to visit then just let me know and I'll be happy to assist. I'm always here to help! I have understood what everyone is looking for and number one is cleanliness which is at the top of my list. I will work hard to ensure that your stay here in Broadstairs is both comfortable and enjoyable so hopefully you'll want to return again!

Property information

FAGIN'S DEN Built in around the 1860's, the cottage is within easy reach of several Blue Flag beaches, local shops, restaurants and wine bars. It is tucked away just off an idyllic courtyard yet still close to all the amenities Broadstairs has to offer. It has two bedrooms and can comfortably sleep four people. All bed linen, bath and hand towels are provided. Freeview and WI-FI is included. There is also free parking on the Eastern Esplanade which again is only a couple of minutes walk away. I would like to point out to all future guests that the cottage is set on four floors connected via a steep spiral staircase, so this property may not be suitable for people with any mobility issues or small children. I am also are very happy to accept dogs who I'm sure will enjoy the many lovely beach walks on your doorstep. (Additional Charge) Fagin’s Den is the very first Dickensian themed holiday cottage in the UK – but please don’t let that put you off if you’re not the biggest Dickens fan! Whilst the cottage was named after the character Fagin from Oliver Twist and has been completely refurbished in a Victorian style it has all the modern-day luxuries you’d expect in a holiday let are still included! Both Dickens enthusiasts and those less familiar with his work can all enjoy this unique experience. Would you like a completely unique holiday experience? If so Fagin's Den is the holiday cottage for you. Included in the price is a treasure trail to find Fagin's Hidden stash. This is similar to the escape room concept where you have to crack clues to find the stash. There is an adult quiz and also a junior one. Please let me know when you're booking and I will add this on for you. Additionally, I supply a variety of Dickensian costumes for you to dress up in to make this a fully immersive experience.

Neighbourhood information

There are seven golden sandy beaches to visit, these include Viking bay, Joss bay, Botany bay and there are smaller more secluded beaches if you prefer. If you fancy a game of Golf on our famous golf courses, or a day out boat fishing, or even a trip to France for the day it is all here for you to sample. Broadstairs has an excellent selection of pubs, restaurants, bistros and takeaways - Italian, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Chinese, or traditional English food are all within easy walking distance. We are fortunate enough to have an excellent bus system on the Isle. The Thanet Loop’ is one of the most frequent services in the UK, running on average every 10 minutes and operates 7 days a week, from early morning until late evening. This service provides excellent connections between Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate. Other bus services offered by Stagecoach will enable easy access to the villages. The number 8 bus provides excellent links from Thanet to the nearby city of Canterbury. A ‘Day rider' ticket is ideal for exploring the area, allowing you to hop-on or hop-off at any point, without limits.
