Within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park in lochside village of St Fillans, one of Scotland's picture perfect villages boasting breathtaking scenery. Set against a backdrop of wooded hills and towering mountains that rise steeply from the loch. Our traditional Victorian cottage overlooks the river Earn which flows into the loch, with views of river and mountains, it is perfectly placed for a holiday in Scotland. Warm and cosy lounge with open fire, 4 large bedrooms. One conveniently on the ground floor, adjacent family bathroom, 3 on the upper level, one twin, one with ensuite it is perfect for families and couples alike. Our large dining kitchen with wood burning in the stove, is the perfect place to end the day, reminisce over the days activities and look forward to what tomorrow has to offer. Externally we have a large garden, which is enclosed, private parking for 3 cars and you are welcome to use our 2 adult and 2 child bikes and scooters to enjoy the cycle path between St Fillans and Comrie. Additional bikes can be hired from Comrie Croft, who can deliver. Sadly due to property insurance restrictions we are unable to host groups, including Hen and Stag.
Manage by local lady Catrina, we the Grant Family share our cottage in the Highlands, we enjoy cycling, climbing and walking. St Fillans offers a healthy outdoor lifestyle for us and our children. We leave our bikes and scooters for our guests to enjoy the local cycle path. We can walk to the neighbouring hotels and restaurants to enjoy wonderful food, a glass of wine and relax and enjoy the sunset on the loch. For us a haven a tranquil location with stunning views. Yet we have all our needs met with the neighbouring village of Comrie and the towns of both Callander and Crieff.
Our location is wonderful, surrounded by hills and mountains, such as Ben Vorlich (958M) and Ben Chonzie, our lochside village has been a popular tourist location for many generations, visited by Queen Victoria and very popular with Queen Wilhelmina of Holland and her daughter Princess Juliana, who often visited in the they spent their private holidays in St Fillans and enjoyed some of the most spectacular scenery the lower Highlands has to offer. Still popular today the Village is the perfect getaway. A gentle stroll will take you to the edge of the loch, there is a man made island that is close to the shore, this stems from a Pictish crannog. There is also a mirrored sculpture of a man in the loch commissioned by the Four Seasons Hotel and created by internationally acclaimed artist, sculptor, Rob Mulholland We also have a fabulous golf course, created in 1903, one of the most breathtaking locations and a challenging course. Famously in November 2005 a housing development was halted to avoid killing the fairies which allegedly lived under a rock on the proposed site, they redesigned the housing development.
