Gosling Cottage consists of a kitchen/diner with and electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, central heating, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and dining seating for two people and a sitting room with a Smart TV and woodburning stove. Well-behaved dog(s) welcome, (max 2). Dog bed (1), blanket, towel, bowls (2) and treats can be provided. The bedroom is a king-size zip/link which can be a twin upon request, and there's a bathroom with a bath and shower over. Outside there is a shared front garden with a gravelled area and path. Please note there is no parking directly outside as the property is situated down a quiet little lane away from the main road. Free on street parking is available near by. Sorry, no smoking. Launderette within walking distance. Within 0.2 miles you will find a shop and within 0.1 mile you will find a pub. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Gosling cottage is a wonderful choice for your getaway together in the Lake District. Note: The garden is not enclosed. A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. With other attractions such as Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park within easy reach, Kendal provides a superb base for a relaxing break.
