Hedgehog Lodge is one of three B&B's at Appletree Hill Retreat. Please read description fully, so you are fully aware of what your booking. Hedgehog Lodge is a cosy retreat in the lower garden of Appletree Hill, surrounded by our endearing animals, located in a rural hamlet of Herefordshire. A place to reconnect with nature & a simpler, back to basics way of living. Internet limited. The lodge is a small, compact living space recently renovated to have all facilities indoors. With double doors, dining/study area, small kitchenette area with sink, kettle & mini fridge for making drinks and a sitting area with charming new Manhattan gas 'imitation wood burning' heater, a small sofa/bed, flat wall TV/DVD. There is a small bedroom with single bed, bedside table, with lights. From the bedroom, you walk into the rest room, with a chemical toilet, sink with instant electric tap for hot & cold water. Shower cubicle has a gas heated, electric pumped shower., water flows from a water tank. There is no mains water, water . There is electric lights & sockets & some some solar power lighting outside. No mains water, fresh water supplied through electric pumps to taps & shower. Complimentary soaps are provided, as are towels & linen. There is a safe parking area for guests, complimentary hot drinks are available & a biscuits for arrival. Breakfast, a selection of hot and cold, is included every morning with your stay, to be delivered at a time of your choice in a traditional hamper to the Lodge. Evening meals can also be provided, at an additional charge, for a complete 'Retreat Experience' there is the 'In-House' Takeaway Menu , all delivered to the lodge at your chosen time slot. Be aware this accommodation is back to basics, no running water, but fresh water provided, some low doorways 5' & surrounded by our animals, including a cockerel. I live with my partner Alex, in the bungalow of Appletree Hill. Hedgehog Lodge, Meerkat Manor & Badgers Burrow, are my passion and business, so the well being and care of my guests is paramount. My aspiration for you, is that your stay with us, is everything you wish for and more. So where possible I will be available, if needed during the day for any assistance or questions and in an emergency during the night. Close enough if you need me, but far enough for your privacy ..... Appletree Hill Retreat is a small holding and we have numerous animals, of which majority are rescues. We have 2 donkeys, 4 sheep, 2 goats, 12 hens, 2 cockerel, 4 guinea fowl, 5 cats & 3 dogs, all our pets are our family, but keep us very busy. A full deep clean will take place between guests leaving and the next staying, on all hard surfaces, and frequently touched surfaces, door handles, light switches, remote controls etc. ALL linen will be washed in Ariels Anti~bacteria washing power and at the highest temperature possible. The accommodation is a private area, with self check in, food delivered with personal space, so where possible limited face to face contact. Coddington is a very small hamlet with approx 12 dwellings, 2 working farms, a church and even its own vineyard. Within a 5 minute walk is 'Adhisthana' set in Coddington Court. A Buddhist Community that holds events & retreats and visit us often in the summer months, enjoying a cup of tea & time with the animals. There are many lovely walks within Coddington, especially Oyster Hill, and lots of public footpath routes to follow in the surrounding area. The Malvern Hills are only a short distance away by car, for longer walks and spectacular views over Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Colwall is a small village 3.6 miles away that has a convenience store and a selection of places to eat and drink. Our nearest town is Historic Ledbury, full of charm, tudor buildings, as well as modern shops to meander round before stopping in one of the many tea rooms for a comforting break. Further afield are the 3 cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester with their inspiring cathedrals and shopping experience.
