Higher Primrose Cottage sits within the small historic working village of Winkleigh, Devon. A stone's throw from all amenities Higher Primrose Cottage is a Grade II listed property built around 1750. The cottage is at the heart of this busy village giving you the benefit of two friendly local pubs, Post Office, village shop, a garage and even a hairdressers. The cottage has a welcoming family feel the moment you step inside. Beautifully renovated but with plenty of original features this cottage will provide a peaceful escape at any time of the year. Higher Primrose Cottage has one double and a small bunk bedroom (suitable for children aged 2 - 12 years). With a cosy wood burner, Higher Primrose is a great place to come and enjoy all year around. It has been lovingly furnished and the owner has tried to source all items from local business and artists.
Welcome, welcome, welcome. Hospitality is at the heart of everything I do and I look forward to welcoming you to my wonderful cottage. I am not a big organisation with hundreds of properties but I am the original cottage industry with just one employee - me! As such I want you to have a truly personal experience and hope that you fall in love with Devon as much as I have. I grew up in London but the draw of this beautiful county proved too much, and so, I moved here and haven't looked back! Devon really does have so much to offer - I love the freedom of the Moors and the wonderful beaches which are amazing and good for walking my dogs too! I hope to make your stay at the cottage such a wonderful experience that you will want to come back!
Higher Primrose Cottage is a Grade II listed 17th century cottage situated in the heart of the pretty Devon village of Winkleigh. Steeped in history, Winkleigh was given by William the Conqueror to his wife Matilda It is the prefect base from which to explore both Dartmoor and Exmoor. Both the North Devon and North Cornish coastlines with their glorious sandy beaches are within easy reach at approx. 45 minutes away. The local pub serves delicious home cooked meals and is only a few minutes walk from the cottage. There are plenty of things to do and see. Guests can enjoy RHS Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal, Castle Drogo, Museum of Dartmoor Life, War Horse Valley, Finch Foundry and much more all within 20-30 minutes away.
