This is a 2 bed dog friendly caravan on a quiet couples and families holiday park which we have refurbished to be comfortable, cosy and well equipped. The park is set in lovely countryside 3 miles from Newquay.
Included in the price is the option to bring your four legged friend(s) - ether x 2 small or 1 x medium size dog, and here is a dog wash area a few steps from the caravan.
Inside the caravan there’s a living room, dining table and x 4 chairs plus a galley kitchen, shower room, double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Both twin beds can be pushed together to make another double, or one bed collapses down to accommodate a travel cot on top. If you are likely to want to make them into another double, please bring a fitted sheet as they will be made up as twin beds.
Outside the spacious decking is south facing and has a gate making it safe for small children and pets.
There is a dining table for x 4 on the decking plus a café table and 2 chairs with a south facing view overlooking a green space.....where you can also enjoy the sunrise and dawn chorus if you are up early enough!
The park has lots of green spaces, several play areas for children and a heated pool open May – September weather permitting. Also included is a freeview TV, free WiFi and there is parking for 1 car.
Please note: Linen and a bath mat are included but towels are not provided.
We have been visiting Cornwall for over 30 years ourselves. Crantock, Holywell, Perranporth and the Newquay beaches of Fistral and Watergate bay are all favourite places for our children and dogs. The beaches are so big they never feel crowded.
Before we tell you a little more about our little piece of Cornwall….here are a few comments from previous guests and what they think of our holiday home and it’s location…..
Fantastic location…..Lovely clean very well equipped holiday home in Cornwall that’s close to multiple locations…on a lovely family site close to some of the best beaches in Cornwall….2 little lakes/ponds which you can walk round, though dogs aren't allowed as it's classed as a nature reserve…..perfect location to walk to the beautiful Crantock beach with the dogs….lovely walks on the doorstep….. The walk from the site to Fistral beach via the river crossing is a must……Plenty of things to see and do in the area….10 mins drive to all you need…. bus stop right outside the site to take you to Newquay and other areas…..our boys loved roaming the park on their scooters…. dog friendly … blankets for the dog(s) available and a large secure deck…..Fabulous from start to finish…..an amazing stay….super clean and warm and very well equipped…the beds were comfy..... Though the caravan is a 2 min walk to the reception, tiny pub and pool it didn't seem noisy or busy…..Very impressed with the host and would definitely recommend…. very friendly host, great communication, lots of information about the location, the area and recommendations of places to visit and eat …. Lovely caravan on a lovely family site. Would definitely recommend staying here for a small family or a couple and their pooch….. If you’re looking for a lovely clean holiday home in Cornwall that's close to multiple locations (Newquay, Padstow, St Ives etc) then this is the place for you.
Some lovely comments from guests...but what else might you need to know?
Cornwall has so much variety to offer all ages. Everyone who loves Cornwall has their favourite areas and things to do, and in June the poppies on the headland beyond Crantock village are a must! The coastline and beaches along the North Cornish coast are just stunning, so if you haven't been to Cornwall before then Trevella and it’s location near Crantock will set the bar very high!.
As our holiday home faces south, it takes advantage of every ray of sunshine, whatever the time of year, so sitting on the decking in the sun, listening to the birds and enjoying the view is lovely.
If you enjoy walking through beautiful scenery, there's a lovely 30-40 minute country walk from the bottom of Trevella Holiday Park to Crantock beach and the river Gannel estuary which is great for water sports. See our photos.
It's worth mentioning that the walk to the beach might be challenging for some guests, little guests or pets who can't walk too far, and the route is unfortunately not suitable terrain for prams/buggies or bikes.
Instead there is parking at Crantock beach less than 10 minutes drive away through Crantock village, but please note that in common with most Cornish beach car parks, it does get very busy at peak times. Parking charges apply which are enthusiastically enforced by wardens and cameras everywhere in Cornwall, so please don't get caught out and always return to your vehicle before time is up wherever you park.
We recommend taking lots of loose change for parking as although you can often pay with your phone, signal can be pretty patchy in some parts of Cornwall and it's beyond frustrating trying to pay when there's a poor signal and lots of people in a queue ahead of and behind you.
There's so much to see and do in Cornwall, but if your idea of a holiday is to take time out to relax and enjoy the beauty of Cornwall right on your doorstep, then this is the place to do it!
