My wife and I stayed 4 nights in Honeysuckle cottage. Although the weather was awful, mainly rain and fog, we still managed to have a really enjoyable relaxing time. We both loved this comfortable well equipped cottage and its quiet surroundings....

Honeysuckle Cottage is a beautiful, former threshing barn in the village of Doddington, set in beautiful countryside just 3 miles from Wooler and 20 mins to the coast. Walking & cycling are right on the doorstep, as well as many golf courses to chose from. No traffic noise, just peace and quiet to relax and unwind and watch the wildlife. lounge/diner, downstairs WC, fully equipped kitchen, sunny front & rear courtyards, 3 bedrooms and 4 piece upstairs bathroom. Super fast broadband and smart TV with some Sky channels. We do accept young children but please be aware there are no stair gates or socket covers.
Hi, we are Paul and Julie, the owners of Honeysuckle Cottage, we purchased the cottage as a holiday home for ourselves as we love the area and enjoy walking in the surrounding countryside and coastal walks visiting the Northumbrian Castles (over 50 in Northumberland!) We have since relocated locally and now let it out so you can now enjoy the area as much as we do! We maintain and clean the cottage ourselves to a very high standard. We have made the cottage a ‘home from home’ with comfortable furniture and a well equipped kitchen to ensure that you can enjoy home cooked meals with your friends and family, although you’ll be spoilt for Choice if you do eat out! We would recommend visiting Bamburgh, Alnwick, Berwick, Kelso and Ford & Etal. The Cheviots and The College Valley are a must for walkers or further afield to Edinburgh or Newcastle (60 miles) can easily be reached for a day trip. There are red squirrels on Wooler Common which is a lovely area to visit. The cottage has many golf courses in the area, including Wooler Golf Club in the village. We are in a ‘Dark Sky’ area so star gazing and The Northern Lights are also a possibility. We do live locally and in the event of an emergency we are contactable via Text, phone or through your Booking.Com account. We will endeavour to assist as soon as we can.
Lovely peaceful area with amazing views, friendly neighbours and surrounded by farmland with countryside & riverside walks on the doorstep. Lots of wildlife in the area, regularly see deer and Barn owls. The area is great for walking, Cycling, sightseeing and visiting the beaches of Bamburgh, Berwick, Seahouses, Alnmouth and St Abbs. The well renowned Doddington dairy is in the village, supplying Cheese and Ice Cream to many UK establishments. Although there are no amenities in the village, a 10 minute walk takes you to Wooler Golf Club for drinks, bar meals and Sunday lunch plus amazing views or a 5 minute drive to Wooler for the pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. Alnwick and Berwick are a short drive away for the major supermarkets or home delivery is available as our postcode is covered by Tesco, Sainsbury’s,Asda, Morrisons and Iceland. Although we are on a bus route (stop on main road, 3 minute walk, turn left onto Berwick Road) to Wooler and Berwick, a car is preferable to explore the area. Parking is free in the private courtyard.
