I have lived and worked in Tarbert for many years and in the past have been involved in my family leisure and hotel businesses. I originally bought Knap House in 2004 and after an extensive and lengthily refurbishment of the property I took a break in 2009 taking a year out sailing all the way around the world in a fantastic adventure in the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race and from then until late 2020 have been involved in other business projects. I am now thoroughly enjoying being host at Knap Guest House. I love meeting new people every day and I have lots of fun and interesting stories to tell you about the area and my life.
Property information
Built in 1895 by a Doctor MacMillan this fantastic building exudes Victorian style with a sympathetic modern twist. Overlooking the glorious Tarbert Harbour the building is in a commanding position with great views.
Neighbourhood information
We are located close to the historic Tarbert Castle - known locally as "Bruce's Castle" and was enhanced around the time of the famous Robert the Bruce. The castle is owned and maintained by the people of Tarbert itself. Great views and marked walks.
