It lies within the UNESCO Biosphere and close to The Galloway Forrest Park. Culzean Castle is 5 miles drive, with Turnberry Hotel and golf courses only 7 miles away. Burns Cottage, the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Heads of Ayr Farm Park are all about 10 miles away.
