A traditional country house built of cobbles with slate roof. It is a former farm house and has quirks such as stepped levels. The large lounge has an open fire and the house has modern central heating.
There is a stair lift for less mobile guests and a large established, enclosed garden overlooking fields and hills.
There is a built in garage for motorcycles.
The village is small with a shopcycle shop, small gym, and cafe. There is a pub approx. 5 minutes drive away. The local beach (1 mile long) is approx 5 minutes away. There is another beach approx. 10 minutes away that is 3 miles long and has a cafe. Neither beach become crowded even in peak season, due to the remoteness of the area.
The roads for motorcyclists are an adventure with ever changing scenery and some of the most scenic and challenging routes in the world (e.g. Hard Knot pass and Wrynose pass).
There is plenty to see and plenty to do locally such as the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway ( a miniature steam railway), Roman ruins, Lakeland museum, Muncaster Castle, as well as many walks around the area for all ages. Coniston water is 30 minutes away and Windemere is also 40 minutes away. The West of the Lake District National park is less visited and as such more unspoilt, with much less traffic and crowds.
