Llys Onnen (meaning Ash Court) is a holiday cottage located on Mynydd Du (Black Mountain) near the village of Graianrhyd in North Wales. The cottage is situated within three acres of land together with a small pond. The paddock is home to a number of Indian Runner Ducks and Chickens. Visitors are welcome to help themselves to fresh eggs every day! As a guest you will have access to the whole cottage, as well as the surrounding land. As the property is not overlooked by anyone, this is a private, quiet and peaceful place to stay, offering striking unspoilt views. There's no ambient lighting so if you like looking up at the stars this is the place for you. The cottage is also dog friendly and we have a large 2 acre field in which your pooch can run around in to their hearts content. The field also contains some willow structures which children absolutely love playing in. Our local pub, the Rose & Crown, is just a 10 minute walk away and serves excellent real ales, incredible home cooked food and has a real fire. It's also an incredibly friendly pub and all visitors are made very welcome.

The cottage is nestled within some beautiful scenery with miles upon miles of wonderful walks. It is part of a thriving local community consisting of the villages of Graianrhyd, Eryrys & Llanarmon-yn-Ial. Each of the 3 villages has a local pub. The nearest village, Graianrhyd, has the Rose & Crown, just a 10 min walk from the cottage, which serves wonderful real ales along with home cooked delicious food which can be eaten in front of a roaring fire!. The village of Eryrys is about a 25 min walk (3 min drive) and has the Sun Inn – a friendly pub offering some great food along with a cosy wood burning stove. Finally, a little further away (30 min walk / 5 min drive) is Llanarmon yn Ial which has the community run Raven Inn along with the community run shop. There is an Electric Vehicle (EV) charging point at the property. We are just a 2 minute drive away should you need anything during your stay, otherwise we’ll leave you in peace. The nearest bus stop is outside the Rose & Crown pub, a 10 min walk away where you can get regular buses to Ruthin, Mold, Chester and Wrexham.
