Loom Cottage pre-dates 1840, maybe much earlier. Rope weavers made their twine at the end of the lane ( Spinners Lane) hence ' Loom Cottage'. The position couldn't be bettered, the cottage is right off Southwold Common, in a 'tucked away' position (quiet.) It's literally minutes right onto the common from Loom Cottage! Best of all, you get use of a GARAGE (in the lane) too during your stay! The cottage is just off the High Street so everything Southwold has to offer is right on your doorstep! Less than a leisurely 8 minutes stroll to the beach, minutes away from all the shops/bars! You can sit outside and watch the world go by in complete peace (only neighbours/walkers/dogs come by). The cottage is really comfy, with lots of homely additions to make your stay very cosy. There's a 40in tv, many up to date dvds, fab books and a well stocked kitchen! Downstairs bathroom. The beds/bedding/furniture are of good quality, there's lots of stuff from my fav. dept. store (clue: think John!). It's a great place for pooches (discuss first, but we do allow 2 -small fees apply), but we do ensure there is no sign/ smell left behind! Many guests return and we are nearby if you need us! We have 18yrs exp. as hosts! We do like to have an email address prior to your stay-so we can discuss your needs/and we can send you all the information you need! PLEASE NOTE the property has no mains gas supply so is fully electric-very carbon friendly and no need for a carbon monoxide detector. Please do let us know prior to your stay if you require a safety gate, travel cot or high chair as these items are not kept on the premises. Bedding is synthetic (John Lewis) and the pillows are anti-allergenic. The cushions are feather filled so please do let us know prior to your stay (if you suffer from allergies) and we will remove for your comfort. WiFi is 50mg -is free-but not guaranteed in the event of breakdown (this has never happened this far) and we would look to remedy asap regardless.
Welcome! Please do contact me prior to your stay so I can ensure everything is ready for you and if you need any special requirements (travel cot/high chair/safety gate etc/certain information/if it's a special occasion etc/what type of pooch you have). I love all things Southwold! My grandmother lived in Walberswick, so my entire family have been visiting for years! In 2015 my husband, (Steve) and I left Warlingham, Surrey to move to St George's Square, Reydon. We took a gamble, left our jobs and took over full management of Loom and Weavers Cottage (next door) whicch can be booked as a pair! We've never looked back, and we love our new job! We let out all year, for single nights/weekly stays etc and we do all the cleaning, laundry, DIY and preparation for our cottages. We keep in the background, but we have made friends of some of our guests, and have (on the odd occasion) enjoyed a tipple together! We love theatre (we make lots of trips to London), we love cinema (you'll realize this from the comprehensive range of DVDs in Loom), and sport; tennis, football (Arsenal), and athletics. We went to London 2017 and we were there on Super Saturday( and the Saturday after) at the London Olympics2012. Unforgettable! I'm a qualified chef (Steve was a printer of book covers) so we love books and food! We are sociable and love visiting all the local eateries (lots of choice) and we have loads of guests at home. We've never been so popular since we moved here! Steve and I want you to have a great experience so if you encounter any issues during your stay please do inform us immediately (even if it doesn't affect you) so we can attempt to remedy for you and for the next guests too!
