Andy and Helen will extend the warmest of welcomes to you. We have many guests who come back and visit us year after year - and we'd love to make you a regular too! We love Minehead and the surrounding area - including Exmoor National Park - and can recommend many things to see and do, including walks - many of which we have personal experience of.

The Montrose is a friendly and comfortable Edwardian guest house, just a short level walk to the town centre, seafront and West Somerset railway. All rooms are en-suite including the ground-floor garden suite which has a conservatory and decked garden area for you to enjoy. We offer free wi-fi throughout the property, a guest lounge, free off-road parking and a generous beverage tray in all the rooms. We also offer a wide range of breakfasts using locally sourced produce, all cooked fresh and to order, and provide a range of home-made treats including our own bread, jams and marmalades.

Minehead has a large sandy beach and Minehead bay offers a multitude of activities including swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. You can explore local history by following the Maritime Mile Trail along the promenade to the picturesque harbour and visiting the museum in the Minehead Information Centre which also offers advice and information, and a selection of local crafts, souvenirs and maps. A stroll along The Avenue provides an opportunity to visit a range of independent shops or visit one of the many cosy cafes for a Somerset cream tea. The surrounding area - including the Quantocks (an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and Exmoor National Park - offers many opportunities for exploring by foot or by bike. Meet the Exmoor ponies or take a trip on a steam train on the West Somerset Railway - the longest heritage railway line in England.
