Property information

Ollerenshaw Cottage is the idyllic retreat for two plus a dog. Inside, you'll find a cosy, open-plan living area downstairs, setting the scene for quiet evenings. Upstairs, a restful double bedroom and a beautifully fitted bathroom with an over-bath shower await. Step outside your front door to a private patio where you can soak up the amazing Peak District views. You're perfectly situated near both Buxton and Bakewell, with everything you need on-site: a posh honesty shop, superfast Wi-Fi, EV charging, and complimentary electric bikes for exploring together.

Neighbourhood information

Wheeldon Trees Cottages is perfectly placed between Buxton and Bakewell. We have two local pubs which are around a 30 minute walk away. The Royal Oak is for foodies and the Packhorse Inn is great for real ales and fish and chips on a Friday night. There is a fantastic selection of things to see and do in both local historic towns. Buxton (The Spa Town) Wander through the town centre to see the magnificent Georgian architecture, including The Crescent (now a luxury hotel and spa) and the spectacular Devonshire Dome. Catch a show at the beautiful Buxton Opera House or visit the Buxton Museum and Art Gallery. The Buxton Festival takes place every July in the town. Take a relaxing stroll through the Victorian Pavilion Gardens, or head to Buxton Country Park to visit Poole’s Cavern, a spectacular two-million-year-old natural limestone cave. Climb up to Solomon’s Temple, a Victorian folly on Grin Low Hill, for stunning views, or for an adrenaline rush, try the high-ropes course at Go Ape in the country park. Bakewell You absolutely must try a Bakewell Pudding (not to be confused with a Bakewell Tart) from one of the town's famous bakeries. Browse the unique independent shops, tea rooms, and artisan delis, and be sure to visit the traditional Monday Market or the monthly Farmers' Market. Take a walk along the River Wye and admire the picturesque, five-arched Bakewell Bridge. Bakewell Old House Museum offers a glimpse into the town's past. You can also hire a bike or walk a section of the Monsal Trail, an 8.5-mile traffic-free route along a former railway line that starts nearby. Haddon Hall, one of the most complete and authentic medieval manor houses in England, is just a short drive outside Bakewell. In addition, you have the world famous Chatsworth just a few miles away.
