Company information

At Outdoor Inns, we believe in the power of the great outdoors. We think that everyone deserves the chance to explore the wild and to find their very own adventure. That’s why we’re on a mission to change glamping forever – to build affordable, sustainable log cabins on pub land in some of the UK’s most beautiful outdoor spaces. Adventuring has its perils, but at least with Outdoor Inns, finding somewhere to stay isn’t one of them.

Property information

Escape to Suffolk and enjoy the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation and authentic British pub experiences. Soak in the fresh air, immerse yourself in the beauty of the rolling hills, and create unforgettable memories as you explore England's wilderness. Head to the pub next door and be greeted by the warm hospitality of Alex and his team. Savour traditional British pub fare, raise a toast with local brews and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of a quintessential English pub. The Star at Lidgate is a charming grade 2 listed country pub and restaurant, with beautiful 16th-century carved oak beams, inglenook fireplaces and a large garden. Nestled in the beautiful Suffolk countryside between the home town of British horse racing Newmarket and the historic Bury St Edmunds. Our CabInn is built for groups looking to experience all that the British countryside has to offer. The cabin has two twin bedrooms and a sofa bed sleeping up to 6 intrepid travellers, and we provide breathable seersucker bedding for a comfortable night's sleep after a long day exploring. There are two shower rooms, each equipped with a shower, sink and toilet as well as all towels and body wash - with all hot water provided by our air source heat pumps. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare for a day of adventure, including an induction hob, kettle, toaster, mini fridge, all cooking essentials and some basics like tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and cooking oil. Kick back and relax in the living room which comes with a dining table, benches and L-shaped sofa as well as a coffee table - perfect for plotting a route on a map or just cheating your way through a board game. You also have a private terrace with outdoor seating to enjoy the views of the sheep and cows next door.

Neighbourhood information

Not far from Newmarket Racecourse, the Star at Lidgate sits in the home of thoroughbred horse racing. There are also a number of great fishing lakes nearby, such as Hermitage and Foxearth Fisheries, as well as golf clubs such as Gog Magog Hills, Links and Bury St Edmunds. Even closer to your front door, the Star at Lidgate is next to a park with cricket nets, football goals and a zipline (which you’re never too old to use). Once you’ve exhausted yourself, you can relax in the beer garden and get to know the goats that live just opposite your cabin.
