Your home away from home was once the kitchens for our old village school home. The dinner ladies are now gone and the space has been renovated as a 1 bedroom, 2 bath (one with shower) guest house. Though it shares a (very thick) outside wall with the rest of the school, it is completely separate with its own entrance, private outside areas, BBQ with sunset views and dedicated off-street parking. We are happy to accept up to 2 pets 20kg or less. We charge a simple per stay fee. Please contact us for rates.
We are techies originally from California who fell in love with the Norfolk Broads. Not being able to resist a project, we bought an old rural village school on 1/3 acre and have begun the process to remodel it into a family home. When we aren't covered in dust we love to explore the Broads and are happy to share our experiences with guests.
Halvergate is a quiet, rural village on the edge of the Broads National Park, Britain’s largest protected wetland. It is a rich tapestry of landscape, navigable rivers, miles of wildlife walks and cycling; woven together by history. The beautiful city of Norwich is 20 minutes to the west and the Norfolk beaches are 15 minutes to the east. There is a wet Pub 5 minutes walk away from the property and loads of eating and shopping options 10 minutes away in Acle or Reedham.
