This two bed-roomed cottage is ideal for up to two couples, a small family or single people wishing to enjoy the stunning surrounding countryside available on its doorstep. The kitchen, located on the first floor, to take advantage of the outdoor scenery, has all essential equipment and a breakfast bar to seat up to 5. The kitchen leads to an external seating area that takes advantage of the beautiful views, afternoon and evening sunshine. The spacious lounge has two large sofas and an additional dining table. There is a log burner supplied with a small complimentary basket of logs and kindling, enough for an evening. Additional logs and kindling can be purchased from co-op (in season). Amazon Prime and Netflix apps are available (guests own logins required) and there is also a good selection of board games, jigsaws and books to be enjoyed. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and views to the front. Bedroom two is a cosy and cleverly designed room allowing it to sleep a couple or two children. It has bunkbed style beds with a single upper bed (suitable for a child only) and a double lower bed. Both rooms have ample storage and bedding and towels are supplied. The bathroom located on the ground floor has a power shower and houses the washing machine and clothes airer. A further toilet is located on the first floor. Please note the stairs is an open plan design, stair gates can be provided upon request. There is also a seating area at the front of the property with a picnic bench to enjoy the morning sunshine outside. Street parking is available, please note the road is narrow directly outside the cottage. When parking, please allow room for large passing vehicles eg tractors, dustbin lorries - (Wednesday am) by parking slightly up or down the road where it is wider.
I love the outdoors and exploring. I am incredibly lucky to live on the edge of the Peak District, with endless miles of paths and trails to explore. When I'm not out escaping into the Peaks I am a teacher in a secondary school for young people with special needs.
The picturesque village of Tideswell is a popular destination and hosts a fabulous range of amenities including three pubs, a fish and chip shop, a cafe, two restaurants/bistros, a co-op store, a chemist, butchers, fruit and veg shop and more. Tideswell is home to a stunning 14th century church known as ‘The Cathedral of the Peak’ and is central to other Peak District locations for example Chatsworth, Castletown, Bakewell, Eyam, Edale, Hathersage and many more. Tideswell and the surrounding countryside offers some fantastic walks/running/cycling including Tideswell Dale, Litton Mill, Cressbrook Dale, Millers Dale, the Pennine bridleway, the Limestone way, Monsal Trail and more. There is a selection of maps and books available in the cottage along with some recommended of walks.
