A warmly-decorated, spacious and tranquil room with a double bed. No cleaning fee added! Furnishings are simple, with a pine chest of drawers, copper clothes rail, a trunk, sofa and an antique table and chairs. There is an attractive cast iron ornamental fireplace with lights and candles for a cosy and romantic feel. Wooden floorboards, and two velux windows, with view to woodland at the front and green hills at the back. The sound of the river at the back can be heard in the night. Please note: this room is an attic room, with a shared bathroom on the floor below. The room is unfortunately not suitable for those with mobility restrictions owing to the steep stairs.
Hello! I'm Helen, and I'd like to welcome you to my home in Mytholmroyd. It's right next to the River Calder, and you can sit on the patio watching the water and spotting the birds - ducks, Canada geese, wagtails, seagulls(!), the heron, the jackdaws, crows, grebe and (if you're extremely lucky) the kingfisher. There's also an American mink who lives on the riverbank opposite, and occasionally the roe deer visit from across the river and graze on the opposite bank. I'm a dog groomer and keen cook, and also have an allotment nearby where I grow fresh flowers. I enjoy being able to share with guests this lovely riverside spot with its south-facing patio overlooking the river.
My home is in a great location close to Hebden Bridge and just 30 seconds' walk from the Rochdale canal, too - you can walk into Hebden Bridge along the towpath. Mytholmroyd is a West Yorkshire village and we're surrounded by wooded hills and lovely walks. In Mytholmroyd we are fortunate to have a great selection of popular eateries just five minutes' walk from the house. There's three fab cafes, three pubs, a pizzeria, a fantastic Indian and a really good Chinese takeaway, and that's without even venturing into Hebden Bridge. We also have a small Asda just 150m down the road for all last-minute basics. If you want to see the sights locally, there is Hebden Bridge itself; historic Heptonstall; the famous area of natural beauty Hardcastle Crags; Stoodly Pike; the Bridestones at Blackshaw Head and so much more. There's always something going on and the area is naturally very beautiful at any time of the year.
