Rhubarb Cottage is set on the top lane of Chapel Stile tucked away in this small terrace of three in the Langdale Valley, close to Ambleside and in the heart of some of the most stunning scenery in the Lake District – a walkers’ paradise. The cottage sleeps up to four guests in a double and a twin with a large family bathroom, plus additional separate W.C, open plan living-dining room with log burner and a well-equipped kitchen. In front of the cottage is a picturesque little garden with outside seating, enclosed with hedging providing a secluded sun trap. An outhouse is available for the storage of bikes and equipment. The cottage has a lovely cosy feel with a homely sense of space in the open plan ground floor living room. With walks right from your doorstep, you’re all set to wind down and enjoy what we think is the best of the Lake District. On-street parking is subject to availability.

Chapel Stile, in the heart of the Langdale valley, is a village that used to serve the local slate workings – well served on a good local bus route and with a convenient little Co-op which carries an impressive stock to support you on your holidays, and of course the local village pub, Wainwrights Inn. For those who wish to explore further afield, a bus stop is located nearby in Chapel Stile. Buses are frequent and connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
