Riverside Cottage is located in the small village of Backbarrow, in the Lake District National Park, near to the river leven at the foot of lake Windermere. Local towns include: Bowness on Windermere, Grange Over Sands, Ulverston and Kendal. All picturesque villages including Coniston, Hawkshead, Grasmere, Ambleside etc are all just a short drive away. There are 2 Pubs/restaurants in the village, Lakeland motor museum, steam railway (links with boats on windermere, Cafe ambio, and cliff hanger rooms. Guests are advised to bring a car, whilst there is public transport available, a car is by far the best way to get around and see all the Lake District has to offer. Nearby train stations are Grange over sands, and Ulverston, there are bus links to the village of local taxis are available.
