FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

    Edinburgh was awesome!

Edinburgh was awesome! Make sure and get to the castle early, buy the 3 bus tour pass and ride all the green live tour guide bus all the way around. I would try to get your shopping done well before 5; that’s when everything closes. Dining and pubs are open later. We parked at the Qpark by St Andrews square and walked or rode the bus everywhere. Keep your card for the Qpark on you so you can access the easy door with it. The Royal Mile and Grassmarket were amazing! We don’t drink but the food was excellent. So much to see, two days would have been better!

Visited the castle which was outstanding. Walked the royal mile and bruised in a few of the shops. Also did the hop on bus tour. Again worth the cash as it helped avoid the mountain climb to reach the older part of the city. Edinburgh was a lovely city to visit.

Edinburgh is a truly amazing city with an almost unique combination of history/architecture/quality green spaces/water-walks/docklands/museums/a castle and some quality open-topped bus tours. There is so much to do/see that we'd need to return for another week to do it justice. The tram system is fantastic and takes you right down to Leith Ocean Terminal where the amazing Britannia (with it's relatively recently opened Tea Room which is very classy!) is permanently berthed and is an essential visit. Visitors do need to remember that Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and, as such, it can frequently be cold and wet with biting winds! It's also built upon three hills (I think) and, as a consequence, there are numerous inclined streets and flights of steps so pack for all eventualities!

The hotel was extremely comfy and relax to stay in Edinburgh, the staffs were so friendly and nice. Don't be hesitated of the location, there is a bus station near to the hotel and easy to reach to the city centre. We made a change of date arrival at last minute, but the staff took us request, so lucky and so happy to extend one more day there, thanks for all. There are also bus stops very close. We also frequented the bar in the evenings. It was great getting to know the people who worked at the hotel. The breakfasts were also very good. The room was quiet despite the hotel being really busy. The location suited us as central Edinburgh is not a good place to have a car and bus travel to/from the city centre was efficient and reasonably priced (even running late into the evening). For those who prefer taxis we noted a steady stream arriving/departing with other guests.
