Rooms only accomodation at Greystoke, comprises of two individually designed bedrooms with front facing views within a beautifully appointed semi-detached Victorian villa in the town of Criccieth in Gwynedd, North Wales. Nestled on a slightly elevated position overlooking the village green, Criccieth is seaside town, and the property is only a 3-minute walk to the beach. With a south facing veranda and gardens, Greystoke is centrally placed for all shops, cafes and restaurants- indeed the views and location speak for themselves. The suites on offer come with free WiFi, a housekeeping service, off road parking and a bicycle lock up for guests. Each unit includes, a flat-screen TV, an en-suite or adjacent bathroom, kettle, bed linen, towels, and heating facilities. Portmeirion is 8 miles, the historic town of Caernafon is 22 miles, Snowdon (Llanberis) is 23 miles and Zip World (Bethesda) is 30 miles. The round Wales coastal footpath path is a mere 3-minute walk from the front door. At Greystoke’s “Room only accommodation”, there are two available bedrooms located on the second floor, with both suites commanding outstanding views. The 'Delux Double Room with Bath' is a spacious and comfortable room with an ensuite bathroom, a bay window, and a sturdy Victorian antique four poster brass iron bed. There is a seating area, smart TV, mini fridge and both the ensuite bathroom and the bedroom itself boast spectacular views over the village green, castle, sea, and mountains. The 'Double Room with Private External Bathroom' is a suite that also commands outstanding views over the green, castle, sea, and mountains, and has a window seat, smart TV, mini fridge, kettle, an original Victorian brass iron bed and sole use of a large adjoining contemporary bathroom. The property is a family home with key access and both available rooms are located on the second floor. Sorry no children.
Criccieth is a pretty seaside town on the shore of Snowdonia with plenty of small cafes, eateries and independent shops. The beach is just a stone’s throw from the property providing easy access to the beach for a paddle, a swim or just a gentle walk along the sands to Black Rock. For the slightly more adventurous, the town’s foreshore offers the opportunity to hire ‘beach bikes’ and for sea sports enthusiasts, you can book to use a paddle board or kayak. Parallel to the beach you can sign up at the excellent traditional 9-hole golf course for a game of Pitch & Putt. The town’s medieval castle (built in 1230 by Llywelyn, prince of Gwynedd) features prominently overlooking the town and if energetic enough, a walk up to its battlements will reward you with some spectacular scenery. If you need to relax and unwind why not book a session in the traditional wood-fired Scandinavian Criccieth Sauna overlooking the beach complete with cold plunge pool and access (if so inclined) for a dip in the waves. Open seven days a week, adjacent to the sauna is the famous Criccieth Dylan’s bar and restaurant where you can choose to retire for a cocktail and refreshments with all day dining– again enjoying the splendid views of the castle and sea. Five miles east of Criccieth is the harbour town of Porthmadog with the World famous Ffestiniog small gage Railway. The beaches of Abersoch are 15 miles west of Criccieth and a further short drive takes you to the historical village of Aberdaron at the tip of the Llyn peninsula. From here one can board a boat trip to the island of Bardsey (Ynys Enlli) known as the legendary ‘Island of 20,000 Saints’ (booking essential) In all, ‘Rooms at Greystoke’ in central Criccieth, with its easy access to the beauty of the surrounding area of Eryri and the coast of north Wales, is certainly a perfect location for a weekend break, a mid-week get away or a longer staycation. Please note there is one small, very shy cat that lives on the premises.
