An amazing cottage, clean and everything you need to start your holiday, all there. Very quiet location and very friendly hosts. Their dog was also greeting us every time we returned from hiking trips. No regrets staying there at all. There's also...

Short commute to good regional walks. Plenty of room in a quiet location. My husband left his watch and bracelet, which Marilyn kindly returned. Good communication from hosts Stephen & Marilyn.

The cottage is really well-placed for getting to the western valleys of the Lake District (30 minutes drive to Wasdale Head). Set well away from the main road it is in a peaceful farm setting and is a cosy retreat after a long day on the Fells...

Welcome to our small farm located in the west of the lake district. We do our best to cater for all be it a family week away or if you're here to walk or cycle the beautiful landscape of the lakes, just ask! We have sheep and dogs on the farm and storage for anything you may need to keep safe such as bikes. There is a small shop in the village for the essentials as well as a local pub called the Brown Cow, another larger shop is less than 10 minutes drive away. We can help with washing if you are staying a while or have an emergency.
Myself and my family have been here for 25 years and are always happy to accommodate.
Waberthwaite is a quaint little village in the west of the Lakes. From the top of the drive you can take in the stunning view and see Muncaster castle which is a great day out for the family. Only two minutes down the road from there is the little seaside village of Ravensglass which is famous for the La'al Ratty railway which takes you up the Eskdale valley and the village of Boot, from here you can make your way up the peaks or to rivers and waterfalls. Less than half an hour away you can be at the foot of Scarfell Pike one of the highest peaks in the UK and what a view awaits at the summit. Our location here is no further then an hour from all the other great lakes and moutain walks you may wish to visit and not to mention central between the two best mountain bike cycle centres in the Lakes, Whinlatter and Grizedale
