This character cottage on historic Middle Street, Deal is a truly wonderful property. You cannot fail to be impressed by the styling, design and degree of comfort in this holiday home. Laid out over three floors, Skippers has three bedrooms and sleeps six people comfortably. Situated in the middle of Deal, and just one street behind the High Street and the seafront, this is the perfect place to stay and explore this seaside town steeped in maritime history. Stepping in through the front door is like stepping back in time to Deal's dark smuggling days as a point of interest some Deal smugglers served as pilots for Nelson and it was from Deal that guinea boats were constructed to ship gold across the channel to pay napoleons armies. This history can be felt in the walls of this exceptional property. From the ancient, solid front door to the huge, impressive inglenook fireplaces adorning the wall of both the downstairs and the master bedroom to the vintage furniture that works so well with the contemporary wood panelling and modern framed artwork. There is even a lovely sunny courtyard with potted bay tree and herbs to enjoy the fresh sea air. Please note: There is currently some building work taking place on a development site in South Street, opposite Skippers. There may be occasional noise or activity during working hours on weekdays, as well as Saturday mornings.

The cottage is on a quiet, picturesque street in the centre of Deal. The town is a short walk away and there are plenty of lovely pubs and shops. The Deal Hoy, a nautical pub serving ales, wines, divine burgers & oysters. Around the corner is a run of quirky home furnishings and contemporary art/craft shops leading in to the main High Street with all its amenities. The beach is a short stroll away that can be reached by passing through Middle Street - little changed since the 18 Century. Deal's weekly market is so close as well as Bloody Mary's and De Bar (two more drinking establishments). Deal train station is about a 5 minute walk and is connected to the fast link service to London St Pancras International. If you are without a car then we are a five minute walk from the train station.
