Smithy Cottage is enviably positioned in prime Beatrix Potter territory, with her Hilltop home – now owned by the National Trust – only a short drive away. All while the cobbled streets, traditional pubs, friendly cafes, and independent shops are right on the doorstep of the cottage itself. You’re also ideally located for exploring some of the Lake District’s most sought after destinations, including Wray Castle, Grizedale Forest and Tarn Hows. Not forgetting the thrill that comes from scaling close-by fells like Latterbarrow, or embracing the local waters and open-water swimming in nearby Windermere.
