Company information

Offering the largest collection of cottages in the Coniston area, The Coppermines Lakes Cottages are the local experts. Independent Agents, locally owned, managed and staffed since 1982. The business was originally developed from the humble restorations of the historic Coppermines buildings, situated in the Coniston Coppermines Valley by Philip Johnston and his family who still own our business today, making us one of the last independent agencies here in the Lake District. Over the years we have significantly grown to now offer over 90 hand-picked, unique, self-catering Lake District cottages (many pet-friendly), all of which are situated within the UNESCO World Heritage boundary.

Property information

Set in the popular village of Coniston, with local pubs, independent shops and cafes a short stroll away, Springbank Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore the beauty of the Lake District. The cottage’s luxurious interior and impeccably landscaped, enclosed garden, make it the perfect choice for couples, friends and small families alike. From the owners of Cragg Cottage, Cumbria Tourism Awards Self-catering Accommodation of the Year 2023, comes Springbank Cottage. A truly luxurious, 2 holiday bedroom cottage with all the modern amenities that our discerning guests have come to expect. Set back on a hill, with a bright, open aspect, the cottage takes excellent advantage of the breath-taking views from all sides. With the Old Man of Coniston above and Coniston Water below, the location is as perfect as the cottage itself. Guests looking for adventure will find ample storage for bikes and SUPs. Those wanting a holiday from driving can leave their car on the private driveway and enjoy world-famous hiking routes, water sports and cycling trails straight from the door. At the end of the day, relax and unwind in the comfy sofas, or soak your muscles in the luxurious bath – bliss!

For those who enjoy a quieter pace, The Ruskin Museum, which depicts the fascinating history of the area including the famous water speed record attempt of Donald Campbell is a must visit.
