Porthmadog, a busy harbour town with all facilities and supermarkets, is just a mile away and is home to the famous Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway, a must visit for any rail enthusiasts. Portmeirion, an enchanting Italian-style village, is also close by. There are any number of beaches and coves within easy reach, including Black Rock Sands where you will find miles of sweeping sands and dunes, and Borth y Gest with it’s cafes. Snowdonia is host to many heritage sites, both industrial, centred around the slate quarries, and military in the form of the castles of Edward II.
