East and West Wittering and Bracklesham are about eight miles south of Chichester. The villages are on the edge of Chichester Harbour which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is criss-crossed by many coastal paths, leafy lanes, mudflats and dappled ways on its extensive 74km2 of inland and coastal habitat. The beaches of East and West Wittering and Bracklesham Bay are adjacent to the sand dunes, salt marshes and flowing tides of East Head, and a little further north is Apuldram and Dell Quay marina where the hidden gem Crown & Anchor pub can be found. About the neighbourhood Chichester is one of the most well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK, with its centre sitting within the famous Roman walls.
