Property information

Tanamara Guest House started out as four flats, back in 1988. The late Delia and Walter Craig bought the flats initially with the intention of building a care home, but after restrictions by the local authorities they decided to turn them into a guest house instead. Several extensions and improvements later saw those flats turned into the beautifully quaint guest house you see today. Tanamara first opened her doors in 1990 and has gone from strength to strength. Now in her 26th year and run by Delia and Wally's son, Chris, Tanamara Guest House continues with the traditional and warming values that regular customers know and love, coupled with just a hint of the modernisation needed in today's world.

Neighbourhood information

Opposite Tanamara Guest House is the Church of England church, St. Saviour's, which hosts several fêtes and events through the year. Five minutes walk out the gate to the left lies the Hop Pole pub and restaurant, which serves delicious home cooked food throughout the day. Take advantage of sunny days by eating or drinking outside next to the serene Chesterfield canal. Five minutes walk the other way leads you into Retford town centre, where you can enjoy Thursday and Saturday markets, browse the shops or eat and drink in several establishments that cater for all tastes.
