DEFRA have imposed a nationwide housing order for all free-range poultry following an increase in avian influenza among migrating birds, which is now infecting domestic poultry in parts of the UK. While there is no risk to humans, this means our chickens will remain indoors until further notice, and access to the area around the poultry units will be know that seeing the hens roaming the fields is often part of the charm of staying on the farm, but sadly that won’t be possible until spring.
