“The Black Dog Cottage” is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom property located in a quiet rural setting outside the town of Dalton in Furness in the Cumbrian countryside. In 2021 the cottage was renovated creating open plan living on the ground floor with the addition of a fully equipped kitchen extension, complete with fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, rustic fireplace with log burner and outside patio terrace with covered seating. First floor accomodation comprises of a generous double and single room tastefully decorated with rustic oak furniture throughout. The newly fitted 3 piece family bathroom offers our guests the chance to relax under a rain water shower after an adventourous day of exploring. On the Second floor you’ll find the master suite with panoramic views and an ensuite bathroom. Off road parking is available at the front of the cottage and wifi is availble throughout the property.

The cottage is the perfect location for a country break where wellies, walks and unwinding are the order of the day. Perfectly located to explore Lake District landmarks and rolling fells with Lake Windermere only a 20 minute drive away and Coniston Lake a 25 minute drive through scenic countryside and historic lakeland villages. Whether wandering the fells or visiting the ruins of Furness Abbey, strolling the National Trusts Sandscale Haws nature reserve, Seal spotting at Walney Island or feeding the animals at South Lakes Safari Zoo, the cottage is the ideal base for exploring the attractions and scenery of southern and western Lake District.
