Built in the mid-1800s, our charming former mill workers cottage is small but perfectly formed. Nestling in the pretty Alkham Valley, in the village of Temple Ewell, the cottage is a haven for couples to relax and enjoy village life, surrounded by lovely scenery, great walks, cycling routes and the popular village pub around the corner. The vibrant towns of Deal, Dover and Canterbury are within an easy drive. The nearby picturesque Kearsney Abbey gardens and tearoom, along with the Bushy Ruff nature reserve are just a short walk away. Our cosy cottage has a sitting room and kitchen on the ground floor and upstairs a king bedroom and shower room. The stairs are steep and not suitable for anyone with limited mobility. The garden to the rear offers a lovely private spot to relax after a busy day sightseeing.
The Lydden and Temple Ewell Downs is a National Nature Reserve. The reserve consists of an area of chalk downland, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The village was founded sometime before the 8th century and since the 18th century, Temple Ewell had 2 of several water mills built along the stretch of the River Dour.
