Residing in the owner’s grounds, this thoughtfully furnished, light and airy studio, completely refurbished in 2025, has a small enclosed garden and makes an excellent base for exploring this fascinating part of East Sussex. The Romans arrived in the 4th century and built the fortress of Anderida on a peninsula of land which is now the A27. William the Conqueror tried his luck in 1066, and after successfully winning the Battle of Hastings he built Pevensey Castle, which you can visit nearby. The castle is also the starting point for the 1066, 31-mile long country walk. Pevensey enjoys Cinque Port status, along with the towns of Hastings and Rye, and was a haven for smugglers for 200 years during the 18th and 19th century. In Victorian times, the court house was built in Pevensey complete with 2 cells and is said to now be haunted! The beautiful Sovereign Harbour Marina, with its plethora of restaurants, pubs, cafés and a cinema, is within walking distance.
