The Chairman's Retreat is a beautifully presented house nestled below Frith Wood in Laurie Lee's stunning Slad Valley. Spacious and bright accommodation with a private terraced garden backing on to a paddock and woodland. Only a short walk to the famous Woolpack pub, a quick drive to Stroud's Farmers' Market and easy access to Cheltenham, Bath, Cirencester, Gloucester and the rest of the scenic Cotswolds, the house offers the perfect base for exploring. Great for families or groups of friends.

It is such a pleasure to welcome guests to The Chairman’s Retreat, to enjoy the house we love and to explore the surrounding countryside from the doorstep. A great place in which to relax and catch up with family and friends. The property is only 10 minutes walk away from one of the finest pubs in Gloucestershire, The Woolpack, which serves good food and fine ales from the local area. Stroud's famous Farmers’ Market offers a wealth of fine produce every Saturday morning and the delights of Bath, Bibury, Cirencester and Burford (to name but a few) are within easy driving reach.

The Slad Valley, immortalised by Laurie Lee’s Cider With Rosie, is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt Cotswold areas of outstanding natural beauty. The Chairman’s Retreat is set in a raised position on the side of the valley, looking across towards the hills opposite and with its back to Frith Wood, which can be accessed from the garden.
