Accommodation for up to four people with an additional two travel cots available for little ones. Up to two well behaved dogs are also welcome. At over 400 years old and originally a cow shed, The Cottage is a perfect mix of period features and modern luxuries. Set on a working Upland farm with walking routes from the door and stunning views all around you, every season brings new beauty. Come in and make yourself at home in the spacious open plan living and kitchen area. The kitchen has all you need to prepare a slap up feast or the information pack has a selection of menus from some fantastic local takeaways. The Fire TV gives access to all of your streaming apps as well as standard channels or if you would prefer there is a selection of books you are welcome to read during your stay and board games if you are feeling competitive! With plenty of room to stretch out, a real log fire, comfy sofa and underfloor heating The Cottage is the perfect place to unwind. The sofa converts to a spacious and comfy king size bed. Upstairs the bathroom features a spacious shower, sink, toilet and full size bath. All of the water feeding The Cottage comes from our own spring which makes a hot bath after a long day exploring feel even better! The bedroom is open and airy with a king size bed and anti-allergen bedding, the blackout curtains make lazy mornings snuggled up in bed just a little bit more cosy. Outside there is a private courtyard with a table, chairs and firepit - perfect for making the most of long summer nights or keeping you warm while you watch wonderful winter sunsets. You are welcome to bring up to two children to stay at The Cottage at no additional charge, we have two travel cots or you are welcome to bring your own - Please let us know when booking so we can make sure you have everything you need. Up to two well behaved dogs are also welcome but we would appreciate you not letting them on any of the soft furnishings.
Hi! I am Faye, a farmers wife and mum of two. I enjoy baking, walking, running around after my babies and getting out and about with friends when I can. We live in the adjoining farmhouse, are happy to chat and are available whenever you need us but please do not worry, there is lots of privacy thanks to the 4ft thick wall between us!
Make the most of your stay with a day of walking in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) or exploring local towns including Talgarth, Brecon, Hay-On-Wye, Crickhowell and Abergavenny which are all charming in their own right. Only 1.5 miles from the market town of Talgarth, the historic Capital of the kingdom of Brycheiniog where you will find everything you need in terms of food shops and pubs as well as gems including the Talgarth Museum and Talgarth Tourist Information Centre, a community run mill, bakery and cafe, a family run ice cream parlour and an award winning butcher and deli. Easily accessible, only an hour from the M4 and an hour and a half from Cardiff Airport The cottage is the perfect base for exploring much of Mid Wales and beyond.
