The Farmhouse lies not far from the A66, making it very easy to access. Though you wouldn’t tell once arrived, with its secluded feel and the far-reaching country views. A mile away is the pretty village of Ravensworth. This is known for Ravensworth Nurseries, the horticultural business, and the remains of the 14th century Grade I listed Ravensworth Castle near the village green. It also has a good village pub, The Bay Horse, with good local ales. For stocking up with groceries for your stay, we recommend a visit to the nearest ‘village shop’ Mainsgill Farm Shop. About 1⁄2 mile away as the crow flies, it has a large food hall with award-winning local produce, wines and general groceries, a restaurant and café. There are several good pubs with restaurants within a few miles; more information can be found in your guest information book. We recommend exploring the historic market towns of Richmond and Barnard Castle. Both are 15-20 minutes away, with many restaurants, cafés, and independent shops to discover. While there are many great pubs, a popular choice for groups is to book a chef to cater in the privacy of your large luxury holiday home. Take a look at our private dining options. For those who enjoy being pampered, The Garage Spa is just a few miles west. Their spa facilities including a sauna, treatments, and massages. For guests travelling from further afield, the closest train station is 15-minutes’ drive. Once you arrive at Greenbank Barns there is plenty to keep you occupied. If you can tear yourself away, some of Britain’s most stunning countryside is right at your doorstep.
