The Ferry Boat Inn was in need of some TLC when we took over. Restoring 16th century pub charm and carefully adding space, comfort and a little 21st century luxury takes time; we hope you'll think it was worth the wait. We're delighted to re-open the doors of this much-loved inn. We can't wait to welcome you! The new look Ferry Boat Inn offers a choice of characterful bars, a spacious new dining area, beautifully designed and self-contained B&B accommodation, a varied selection of menu delights, locally sourced beers and delicious wines.

Our self-contained, purpose-built annexe houses six beautifully furnished and contemporary styled bedrooms, each with their own en-suite facilities and brand new king-sized beds, all with the flexibility to be reconfigured as twins to suit. Located discretely behind the Inn and designed to fit into the rural landscape, all our rooms have country views, some facing east over neighbouring farmland whilst others look out over our lovely garden. All rooms are bookable on a bed and breakfast basis, with the option to book a table in the Inn for lunch or an evening meal. With free parking and free Wi-Fi, there’s every reason to kick-back and relax.

The Ferry Boat Inn nestles on the southern edge of North Fambridge, in the Maldon District of Essex. With views across the open fields of the internationally important Blue House Farm nature reserve and within easy reach of Fambridge Yacht Haven marina and boatyard. The locality is famous for its former ferry crossing over the River Crouch and a popular destination for yachting, canal boats, bird watching and beautiful tow path walks. From the Ferry Boat Inn pick up the flat, but picturesque 3 minute (approx) walk over to Fambridge Yacht Haven. Take a deep breath and enjoy your surroundings; the beautiful scenery, the sounds of the waterside wildlife and the spectacular panoramic skies. A stone’s throw away, the River Crouch flows gently through this part of Essex, a tidal estuary meandering its way through a peaceful, wide-open landscape. Its’ 17-mile coastal path leads inland and around the edge of the mud flats, famous for yachting and oysters. Look out over the expansive salt marshes and you might catch a glimpse of the migrating wildlife as they pass. Indeed, every season brings with it a different array of wildlife, so there’s always something new to see.
