The George Bed and Breakfast is a late 19th century building with real character. Most of the rooms have been re-furbished and fitted with ensuite bathrooms as well as a new heating system and windows installed. Mike and Karis took over the property July 2023. Mike previously worked as a head chef with over 20 years cooking experience, so look forward to some tasty breakfasts and Karis has previously owned hotels, so knows how to make your stay feel like home from home. Our children Ruby and Miles are keen to help with breakfast service but being only 11 and 13 years, it will be a while before you have the pleasure of seeing their smiling faces waiting on tables. Here at The George we pride ourselves on being a friendly, family run business, who understand the value in working hard at what you do to try and be as successful as you can. Above all the most essential thing to us here is that our guests enjoy their stay, with upmost importance on the cleanliness of our rooms, our hospitality and the the little touches you might not otherwise get in a big hotel chain.

The George Bed and Breakfast is a friendly, family run business. A late 19th century building that has been completely modernised with Free Wi-Fi, smart TVs, windows a new heating system, ensuites and rooms refurnished, but has not lost any of the buildings original charm and character. Sat in a quieter part of town, The George is only a short walk away from the beach, town centre, Sea Life centre, and Lodmoor country Park with other attractions like Bowleaze Cove and the Nothe Fort. If you like a challenge, we have a coastal path walk from Bowleaze cove to Lulworth Cove which will take approximately 3 hours. The coast path follows cliff top, lagoon, beach and urban environments. There are some very steep ascents and descents in parts. Steps are installed on most of the steeper sections. The path is currently accessed through a mixture of self closing gates, kiss-gates and stiles. The harbourside is where you can enjoy various fishing and boat trips as well as jet ski rides are available being approximately a mile away. With plenty of top class seafood restaurants over looking Weymouth's beautiful picturesque harbour. Both main roads out of the town are easily accessible making arrivals and day trips out a minimum of fuss. Breakfast is included with Gluten Free and Vegetarian & Vegan options available, please tell us on arrival if your have any special dietary needs. Free on-site Parking. We are pet friendly.
