The Snug is a cosy wee detached holiday cottage tucked up a quite lane in the small village of Innellan - a peaceful retreat. Many years ago The Snug was a haybarn, now it’s a cosy, modern cottage which comfortably sleeps up to 3 people. We are also very happy to welcome 1 dog in the cottage. The kitchen and living area (with sofa bed) are upstairs and there is a juliet balcony to take advantage of the lovely views. Downstairs is where you’ll find the cosy bedroom with king sized bed, and the bathroom with bath and over-bath shower. The cottage is fully double-glazed, has free Wi-fi and central heating that you can set to make sure you're as toasty as you like. We provide all linen, towels (if you'd like some old towels for the beach, just let me know), tea towels, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, a couple of washing machine capsules, some toilet rolls and hand soap. There's a shed for guests to use, big enough to store a couple of bikes. There's a lovely shingle beach at the foot of the lane only a minute's walk from the cottage, and there are miles of secluded forest walks and cycle rides on the doorstep - the perfect base to escape the crowds and enjoy the beautiful west coast of Scotland. PLEASE NOTE: The Snug doesn't have a garden or parking space. However, there is plenty of parking in the large, well-lit layby at the foot of the lane. You're welcome to drive up to the cottage to unload etc, but the lane is too narrow to park in! From Glasgow you can either drive here via the beautiful Rest & Be Thankful route, or take the Western Ferries from Gourock to Dunoon - make sure to buy your tickets in advance as they're a lot cheaper! The cottage is also very easy to reach by public transport, taking the Calmac foot passenger ferry into Dunoon and then the 489 West Coast Motors bus to the foot of our lane here in Innellan. Hi, my name's Catriona (Katie). My family and I live here in Innellan and feel so lucky to do so! It's a really special place, very peaceful, relaxing, great walks and cycling and two great village pubs/restaurants within walking distance - perfect! I like to give guests privacy to enjoy their stay, but if you need me then you can call or message me - I only live up the road and can easily pop by.

Innellan is only 4 miles south of Dunoon which has all the local amenities you will need for your stay. There are 2 supermarkets, a butcher, doctors, a vet, cinema, soft-play, swimming pool, museum and lots of great little independant shops. Innellan is a peaceful village with a lovely shingle beach and a backdrop of hills and forests. There's lots of activities such as: tennis, a wonderful golf course (we have a set of clubs, just let us know if you'd like to borrow them), sailing, biking and walking. There's a community owned village shop and post-office (The Lido) as well as two great restaurants (The Osborne and The Royal) each also with traditional bars. We're happy to give hints on local places to see and walks to do. If you travel just a bit further you'll be able to discover lots of other lovely towns and villages such as Blairmore, Strachur, Cairndow, Inveraray. The isle of Bute and the town of Oban also make for great day-trips. If you fancy some serious mountain walking we have the Arrochar Alps just an hour's drive from the cottage.
